Dr Robertson completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 2008. He became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists following psychiatry training at St Vincent’s Hospital, the Alfred Hospital, and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. He has also completed a Masters of Psychiatry at Melbourne University.
During his psychiatry training, Dr Robertson gained a wide breadth of clinical experience with diverse populations. He has worked in adult, child and adolescent, and older aged public mental health teams, specialist psychiatric services to oncology, lung transplant, obstetric and gynaecology units, an Aboriginal health service, and a youth severe personality disorder service.
From early on in his career, Dr Robertson established a strong interest in psychotherapy. This has led to extensive study in the fields of psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. He has a private psychotherapy practice in Melbourne.
