Dr Ehsan Nikrad is an adult Consultation-Liaison psychiatrist working both in a large public hospital and in the private sector. He is also an adjunct lecturer at Monash University. Ehsan completed his medical doctorate in Tehran, Iran and worked for a few years as a GP in Melbourne before entering into psychiatric training. Ehsan completed his general and subspecialised psychiatric training by working in metropolitan and rural areas. He is interested in the interface of mind and body, and the effects of lifestyle and social situation on one’s psychological well-being. As a result, he has a holistic and comprehensive approach to the assessment and treatment of his clients. Coming from a GP background, Ehsan is specialised in managing mental health conditions where there is a medical comorbidity. His special interests are mood, psychotic, trauma-related and functional disorders. Ehsan is fluent in English and Farsi. In his spare time, you can find him in the cinemas and art galleries, spending time with his family, or walking his dog Sigmund.
